We won’t be using this space too much, but it is home to the 10 Days of Twitter mini-course (#MMJC10DoT if you’re already a Twitter-head).
It’s also a good place to leave links, readings and resources, so that’s what you’ll find here, under resources.
MMJC 9104 introduces you to some of the technologies you will need to excel in integrated media environments, including social media. In addition, you will learn concepts of visual communications, adapting to new technologies, and user-centered design which will enable you to be more effective communicators and journalists. We will also learn strategies for anticipating technological shifts and how to respond to them through your own work.
My hope is to show you enough technologies that you’ll start to get comfortable with all of them. One thing I can say for sure, your careers are going to be mediated through digital technology, so it’s helpful to get used to learning about how to learn new software.
That said, all of our official business (submitting assignments, doing the tutorials, etc.) will take place on OWL, right here.
